Searching for an ideal cozy knit beanie for a chilly winter? The Logan Beanie offers a free knitting pattern using bulky weight yarn made from 100% wool, ensuring warmth even on the coldest days.

I enjoy creating free knitting patterns that my entire family can appreciate. This pattern was designed so my daughter and I could have unique matching mommy and me hats for winter. I chose the best and warmest yarn for cold temperatures, deciding on We The Knitters 100% Wool yarn.
This is one of the few knit hats my 6-month-old daughter loves enough to keep on for more than 30 minutes.
Interested in crafting a mommy and me matching hat set? Below are the free knit hat patterns for adults. A kids version of this pattern is also available for free and can be found here.
To ensure the hat fits perfectly every time, use our free knit hat sizing guide to determine which free pattern for chunky knit hat sizing you should follow.
Using knit and purl stitch, this chunky knit beanie is knit in the round and is suitable for knitters of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner knitter or an experienced knitter, this pattern is for you.
Bulky knit yarn patterns are my favorite to work with. They knit up so quickly and will sure to be in and out of your WIP queue in no time. When varying your knitting stitches with super bulky yarn, the finished product of the pattern pops for a unique and bold look.
